Real or Fake?

Penguins on the beach?!?!?! How did they get there?
Did I trick you? This photo is fake, the images (the penguins and the beach scene) are from Unsplash, a site that allows you to download photos without having to worry about copyright. I used an app called remove.bg and it removed the background of the penguins.
These are the original photos before the background was removed.

I created this post to make people understand that not everything that you see online is real.

teamwork and a can do attitude was needed in these sessions. Here are some photos of us...

If you would like to play my game click on the link below...
Over the course of 4 weeks we created our games, on the fourth week we even made controllers to play
our game with. If you would like to make a game of your own, click on this link and you can make your own game using Microsoft Makecode Arcade. I hope you enjoy the game!

Ko te kēmu tino whakamataku!!!

Are you wondering what the title above means?
Do you know the names of animals in Te Reo?
I created this game to test kids on their Te Reo knowledge and also to teach kids Maori animal names. I think I did a pretty good job as this was my first attempt at creating a game. To make this game all I did was remix this game...
Click the SCRATCH button (if you do not have an account you can sign up) and then click on the button Remix and it should come up with the code. You can then edit the code and change the questions and characters. If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments below. Good luck making a game and most of all, have fun!

Next time my goal will be to create a game of my own from scratch. I hope you enjoy the game and also that you might consider creating a game! Feel free to comment below so I can improve my game!

Good luck!!!

Tipu in Schools Video

Click here to watch the video...
We are learning how to use an app named Tipu in Schools which teaches us Te Reo. We then had to create a video using a Tipu phrase or Te Reo Maori. I really enjoyed making this video.

Piskel App

We are learning how to use an app called Piskel. I created this... I really enjoyed creating this and I am looking forward to using this app again. It was quite hard to create and it took time but I am happy with my results. Next time I would like to make it more detailed. 👍

Manaiakalani

We were doing Manaiakalani and we were learning about copyright and fair use. We had to turn this....
Into something like this....
I really enjoyed making it and learning about copyright and fair use. We also learnt how to add links to the images so we could attribute the person who took/created the image/photo. 👍

Lockdown Writing

The Covid-19 Lockdown is working in New Zealand.

On the 28th of February, the first case of Covid-19 in New Zealand became known. If we want a Covid-19 free country, we have to make some sacrifices, we have to go into Lockdown. We need to be grateful for the amazing country we live in. Just because we are in Lockdown doesn't mean boredom, it means saving lives, stopping a dreadful disease and spending more time with our household members. Gradually, the number of cases started to rise and panic slowly seeped into our country. This invisible enemy is stealing precious lives, filling our country with fear and making people sick. But, like the Prime Minister said, "Stay at home, it will break the chain of transmission, and it will save lives."

Lockdown will save lives but we have to obey the rules for this to happen. Less than a month after our first case, on the nineteenth of March, at 11:59, New Zealand closed its borders to all non-residents. That was just the start of it. Four days later at one minute to midnight our country went into Lockdown, something that had never happened before. Our borders were closed to everyone and merci flights were occuring, all non-essential businesses were closed and many New Zealanders were made redundant. We are all going through this together, we are not alone. It is up to us to save the lives of people in our country, and if we do it right we will have achieved a Covid-19 free country.

Personally I don't like Lockdown, but it has to be done. We may be missing out on some things but we can always try them again. We might be missing out on seeing people but we can always see them after the lockdown. New Zealand has shown great perseverance through this tough time and the Lockdown has made me realise how great our country really is. Our country is coping with Covid-19 amazingly, we closed our borders and went into lockdown before the disease had time to become to large to control. During this Lockdown people are becoming more and more grateful about the country we live in and the people in it.

Lockdown does not have to mean boredom. It can mean spending precious time with your household members and pets. Sometimes we take for granted the small things that we have. Like our families, our homes, our friends and pets. But now is the time to spend as much time with them, (when you are not doing school or work of course.) When you are bored during Lockdown, think of the things you love to do at home, such as baking or science experiments. You could always play a board game with you parents or siblings. Try and make the most of this Lockdown and spend precious time with your family and make isolation memories!

"Stay at home, it will break the chain of transmission, and it will save lives." We are almost there and given the reasons that I have explained, lockdown is working for our country. Our case numbers have gone down and we have saved so many lives. Stay united and don't stop fighting.

Lockdown WeVideo

We were learning how to use WeVideo for the first time. We had to record 4 videos and then connect them together to make this video. The first video is for the presenter, the second talks about the best part of lockdown, the third talks about the worst, and the fourth, the weirdest. I really enjoyed making this and I am looking forward to using this app more and making more WeVideos! 👌😏👍

ANZAC Slides

We were given slides asking questions and we had to answer them. I added backgrounds to my slides and a lovely quote at the end. I enjoyed making these slides because I learnt more about my great grandfather and I learnt heaps more about ANZAC and a soldier named Charles Hazlitt Upham. Just click on full screen to read/watch it or else it is hard to read. :)

ANZAC Background

For Manaikalani we had to create a ANZAC background using canvas. I enjoyed it but it was quite hard to blend the colours. Personally I think pencil (On paper) is better but it was cool to try. :)

ANZAC Animations

We are learning how to make simple animations and how to use polyline. It was very enjoyable making this and it has 133 slides in it. It took me 3 days to complete me Caeser ANZAC project. All my hard work paid off and I am now left with an awesome and sad animation about a dog that saved a lot of lives and that sacrificed his own life for everyone around him.

What digital footprint means to me.

We were told to make a video explaining what we thought a digital footprint was. Here is what I thought.

Sierra - About Me 2020

We had to write a little about ourselves and use polyline to make an image of ourselves. First we had to insert an image of yourself and then polyline around each different part. I like mine because of the colour and I love the quotes. Next time I think I need to try add more detail. If you would like to do a polyline image yourself, go onto docs,
